CHOCOLATE ANYONE?

Every month has special "World...Something Day." Looking to see which days were noted in July - Minority Mental Health, Nelson Mandela is honored, oh and Hot Dogs too, which makes some sense with the prominent place they have on July 4th in the U.S. But the one that appealed was on July 7, World Chocolate Day! I believe I have heard of people who do not like chocolate, but it must be rare, at least in the Western World. Then of course, like ANY subject, we writers can create endless stories - the bestseller, Like Water For Chocolate, Chocolat, a film starring Johnny Depp, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and onward.

Who invented chocolate? Chocolate's 4,000-year history began in ancient Mesoamerica, present day Mexico. It's here that the first cacao plants were found. The Olmec, one of the earliest civilizations in Latin America, were the first to turn the cacao plant into chocolate.

So, like we often discuss, ANYTHING can make a story, but There's Just Something About Chocolate - not a bad title. It is one of those never-get-tired-of subjects, appealing to the masses. Try to write every day, write about anything and if it helps, get a little chocolate to give inspiration! Be well, safe.
