AUGUST IS FOR AUTHORS

Well, I just thought sounded good. But of course, every month is for authors, and I hope you've been able to find the time, the place and the inspiration to write.

The month of August was originally named Sextilis in Latin since it was the sixth month in the ancient Roman calendar. The name of the month was changed to August in honor of Augustus Caesar in 8 BCE. You probably already knew that bit of trivia.

Probably not common knowledge, are fellow wordsmiths we can remember and say Happy Birthday to this last month of summer -JAMES BALDWIN, P.D. JAMES, GEORGETTE HEYER,

H.P. LOVECRAFT, HERMAN MELVILLE, GUY DE MAUPASSANT AND MARY SHELLEY, to name a few. A good month for writers it seems.

On a more serious note, we hope you are well and safe in these very challenging times. As they say, "Hang in there!" We always want to hear from you - your ideas and feedback are valuable.
