I know your eyes in the morning sun, I feel you touch me in the pouring rain.

That was Kent’s favorite song, and he’d shown it to me on his new iPod Mini. His brother, Grant, showed it to him. I always thought his brother was cool. He had this big hair that covered his eyes and never took off his jean vest that was tattered and covered in pins and Sharpie doodles. His combat boots were also a staple -- the kind for the military.

I think they’re Kent’s dad’s because I think my dad has the same pair from when he was overseas. My dad’s pair is in the hall closet, but he’d never let me wear them as a fashion statement.
